A member of Enrico Rava’s quintet, he’s heard here leading a quartet featuring British bassist Paul Rogers and Argentine saxophonist Javier Girotto, with whom he plays in another high-profile formation, France’s Orchestre national de jazz. this program of originals by these three intense instrumentalists maintains an undercurrent of harmonic and rhythmic freedom even during its more structured and melodic moments.
